NIOS Question Paper 2025 for Class 12 Senior Secondary

Senior Secondary runs on three-digit codes from 301 to 385, including the applied and vocational subjects. Each subject below has an April 2025 row and an October 2025 row. What Changes Between April and October

Comparing the two sittings for the same code is the fastest way to see what NIOS treats as core. Topics that surface in both papers within a single year are unlikely to disappear from the next one. Topics that appear in only one sitting tell you where the paper has room to move.

NIOS Question Paper 2025 for Class 10 Secondary

Secondary runs on codes from 201 to 285 for academic subjects, plus the 600 series for the vocational trades such as Cutting and Tailoring, Desktop Publishing and Beauty Therapy. Subject names repeat across the two levels while codes differ, so check your admit card first. Hindi is 201 at Secondary and 301 at Senior Secondary. Mathematics is 211 and 311.

Where Secondary Learners Lose Marks

Secondary papers reward completeness rather than sophistication. A five-mark answer written as two sentences is marked as two sentences however correct it is. Science and Technology expects labelled diagrams. Social Science expects dated events and named provisions. Mathematics expects every working step, because method marks survive even when the final figure is wrong.

Understanding Set A Set B and Set C Variants

NIOS issues the same paper in multiple versions across examination centres, printed on the cover as Set A, Set B and Set C. Look at the filenames on the papers below and the pattern is visible immediately: a large share of the 2025 subject papers were released as combined Set A, B and C documents.

The three sets share one blueprint. The mark distribution, the section structure and the internal choices stay identical, and the questions themselves are frequently the same items reordered or lightly reworded. That is what makes the variants worth studying rather than merely collecting. If you can answer a question in whichever order and phrasing it arrives, you have understood the topic instead of memorising a position on a page.

How the NIOS 2025 Papers Are Structured

Written examination

Most theory subjects carry an eighty-mark written paper built from objective items, short answers and long answers, with case-based questions in the commerce subjects and numerical or diagram work in the sciences. The duration, the mark split and the internal choices are printed on the first page of the paper and vary by code. Read that page before you time yourself.

Tutor Marked Assignment

The Tutor Marked Assignment carries twenty marks in most theory subjects and is written at home with books open and no clock running. It is the most controllable component in the whole scheme, which is exactly why leaving it half-finished is the most expensive mistake a NIOS learner makes. Confirm the current weightage for your code on nios.ac.in.

Vocational and practical subjects

The 600 series trades and several applied Senior Secondary subjects replace part of the theory weight with practical assessment, and their papers follow a different blueprint. Do not assume a general subject paper prepares you for a vocational code.

How to Work Through These Papers

1. Take both sittings of your own code

April and October of the same year is the sharpest possible comparison, because the syllabus is identical and only the paper changed. Attempt April first, then October, then list every topic that appeared in both.

2. Sit the paper under real conditions

Close the book, set the timer to the duration printed on the paper and write with the pen you will carry into the hall. A paper attempted with notes open teaches you nothing about writing speed, and writing speed decides whether the final long answers get written at all.

3. Mark yourself against the solution honestly

Compare structure before content. Count the points in the solved answer, count the points in yours, and note the gap. Learners who mark themselves generously in practice are the ones surprised by the result sheet.

4. Rewrite every weak answer the same day

Rewriting is where the marks come from. Take each answer you scored below half on, rewrite it in the shape of the solution, and keep that rewritten version as your revision note for the chapter.

5. Sit the same paper again after a week

The second attempt is a speed test rather than a knowledge test. If the paper now takes noticeably less time and the answers still hold their structure, the practice has worked.
