NIOS Class 12 Question Paper 2025 Download Table for the April Session
The April 2025 papers were printed in Set A, Set B and Set C variants for most academic subjects, which is useful because the three sets rotate the same syllabus areas through different question numbers. Attempt one set fully, then scan the other two for phrasing you have not seen.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme for Senior Secondary Papers
Most non practical theory subjects at senior secondary level carry 80 marks in the public examination and 20 marks through the Tutor Marked Assignment. Practical subjects split the weighting differently, with a share reserved for the practical file and viva. [VERIFY marks split for practical codes against the current scheme on nios.ac.in before relying on it.]
- Duration: three hours for a full theory paper.
- Question types: objective and very short answer items, short answer items, and long answer items that carry the largest single blocks of marks.
- Sets: Set A, Set B and Set C for many academic codes in the same session.
- TMA: submitted to the study centre and counted towards the final result.
Reading the paper before reading the textbook changes how you revise. Once you have seen how a chapter is actually examined, you stop memorising sections that never appear and start writing answers in the shape the marking scheme rewards.
How to Practise These Papers for a Higher Score
- Sit the paper cold. Open the PDF, set a three hour timer, and write on loose sheets exactly as you would in the examination hall.
- Mark the long answers first. The heaviest items decide your band, so check those against the syllabus before you look at anything else.
- Repeat the same code across sessions. Solve April 2025 and October 2025 for the same subject and note which topics survived both papers.
- Keep an error sheet. One page per subject listing every question you could not attempt, revisited weekly.
- Time the writing, not just the thinking. Most students lose marks on the last two questions because the clock ran out, not because the topic was unknown.
If you want the written solution set for a specific subject and session, message the NIOS desk with the subject code and the session name.

Recurring Question Areas by Subject Group
The areas below appear consistently across the papers listed on this page. They are a starting point for revision, not a substitute for the full syllabus, and they should be checked against the paper you download.
Science group
- Physics (312): current electricity, magnetic effects, optics and modern physics numericals.
- Chemistry (313): chemical bonding, equilibrium, organic conversions and named reactions.
- Biology (314): reproduction, human physiology, genetics and ecology based long answers.
- Mathematics (311): calculus, matrices, probability and vector questions with stepwise working.
Commerce group
- Accountancy (320): journal entries, partnership adjustments and final accounts with working notes.
- Business Studies (319): planning, organising, staffing and marketing mix questions.
- Economics (318): national income aggregates, demand and supply, and money and banking.
Humanities group
- Political Science (317): the Constitution, federalism, Parliament and foreign policy.
- History (315): the national movement, medieval polity and world events of the twentieth century.
- Geography (316): climate, resources, population and map based items.
- Sociology (331) and Psychology (328): definition led long answers where terminology carries the marks.
Where These Papers Sit in Your Preparation
A downloaded paper is only a diagnostic tool until you write it. Students who attempt three sessions of the same code in timed conditions usually spot their own weak chapters faster than any coaching note can tell them. Pair the paper with the matching TMA and the practical file, if your subject has one, and your revision is effectively complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which NIOS Class 12 papers are available on this page
Every academic subject from Hindi (301) through Natya Kala (385) is listed for both the April 2025 and October 2025 senior secondary examinations, giving 50 academic codes per session. Seven vocational codes from the April session are listed separately, covering web development, office applications, hardware maintenance, customer relationship management and yoga assistance. Each row links straight to the PDF or to a request link where the scan is pending.
Are the Set A, Set B and Set C papers different
The sets test the same syllabus but shuffle the order and wording of items so that neighbouring candidates do not see identical sequences. Practising one set gives you the pattern, while comparing the other two shows how the same concept can be rephrased. For subjects like Mathematics and Accountancy the numerical values change between sets, so redo the calculations rather than copying an earlier answer.
How many papers should I solve before the examination
Aim for at least five fully timed papers per subject, drawn from different sessions rather than five attempts at one paper. That spread exposes you to a wider range of question phrasing while still letting you notice which chapters recur. Mark each attempt honestly against the syllabus, record the questions you could not finish, and re-solve only those before moving to the next paper.
Do I get the solutions with the question paper PDF
The Download Paper column gives the question paper at no cost. Written solution sets are prepared separately by the subject desk and are shared through the Download Solution button in the same row, which opens WhatsApp with the subject code and session already filled in. That way the counsellor knows exactly which paper you need without further back and forth.
How is the senior secondary result calculated
For most non practical subjects the public examination carries 80 marks and the Tutor Marked Assignment carries 20 marks, which are combined for the subject total. Practical subjects reserve a portion for the practical examination and file. Because the scheme is revised from time to time, confirm the current weighting for your specific subject code on the official NIOS website before planning your marks target.
Can I use the October 2025 paper if I am appearing in the next session
Yes. The syllabus does not change between consecutive public examinations, so the most recent paper is the closest available preview of what you will face. Treat the October paper as your final mock, sat under full timing conditions, and use the April paper earlier in your revision cycle when you are still identifying weak chapters.
